TRIPTYCH SETS

Above is a "repetition" set of triptych posters. Using several lines to create an illustrative message, these posters advertised an international exhibition that displayed artwork from growing artists worldwide. Up for interpretation, the use of abstract lines can hold symbolism in many ways. One way, for example, is an organic depiction of the creative process that all artists can find familiar.

This set encourages a self-motivated event challenging oneself to pursue and explore all creative ideas in an attempt to prevent creative block. I utilized handmade elements that could symbolize creative block, such as a broken pencil, the condescending blank page, and candle wax from "burning the midnight oil".

For the typography set, I advertised a panel conversation about bending the “rules” of graphic design with panelists: April Greiman, David Carson, & Stefan Sagmeister. Each poster is inspired by the artist's distinctive style. Though not a real convention, designing the idea of this event while taking inspiration from these incredible artists was an exciting challenge to take on.
